Croatians love food – we enjoy gathering, socializing, and having long conversations over a table full of mezze and wine, which is never just one glass. Italians find it strange that we mix wine with water, Westerners and Northerners don’t quite get our hours-long coffee- drinking and favorite hobby – people watching, while the rest of the Balkans often see us as a bit reserved or distant, maybe because we’ve picked up some of the Viennese manners we were taught. But that’s just who we are – a country on the border. Croatia is a mix of East and West, full of contrasts and differences, and I want to experience and share it with you – through its past, present, and future. Will you like it? Honestly, I hope not, because that just means there’s more left for those of us who are completely in love with it. For me, that love came from my grandmother – her passion became mine. So follow us if you’d like to learn more about Croatian food culture, our gastronomy, and our travels. And if you’re up for it, join us on our tours, which – if we do say so ourselves – are a bit different from the rest.
